Support our approach

The first thing you can do is to have a deep interest in Niger and Africa, and to provide support to our project of sustainable development, cultural exchanges and solidarity. Our Nigerien friends, local coordinators of Tarbiyya Tatali, need our assistance to organize and manage the development projects, our advice and creative suggestions.

A little money can work miracles.

They need money to make the projects a reality. Small amounts of money can work miracles in their hands. Two euros allow purchasing schoolbooks for a child, 10 euros are sufficient to supply lunch for one year for a child. Four thousand euros, collected by the association, allow operating a hope class for one year, to pay the annual wages of several community teachers or a doctor. Motorbikes of the association costs twelve hundred euros and the car, essential to visit the health cabins, costs seven thousands euros.

Become a member

If you wish to contribute to our initiatives, join us, become a member of AECIN.

If you are a tax-payer in France, donations and membership fees entitle you to a receipt and are tax-deductible the following year.

To give time.

Members or not, if you have some free time, introduce our projects to your friends and neighbours, show the objects we propose and look for support for our activities in your company and your community. You can sponsor our projects.

Cash donation -even a small amount - is the most effective contribution. You can donate to l'AECIN.

Giving second hand objects is usually not a good idea.

Unused medecines, second hand clothes and old schoolbooks may not fit the needs and are costly to ship. Positive exchanges cannot be based on giving our surplus or obsolete items.
Moreover Niger is a landlocked country and shipping (usually containers) is very expensive.Sending remittances is used to buy objects adapted to local life there, and to keep the economy and trade going.

Medicines

Giving unused medecines is risky for they can be improperly used. Simple medecines (aspirin for example) are recommended

Clothes

Sweaters are among the few clothing items which are useful for the nights are cool during the cold season. It is still expensive to ship them.

Books and schoolbooks

Schoolbooks for primary schools do not match the local needs, since teaching programs are specific

Novels, dictionnaries as well as schoolbooks fit the needs of the middle schools and the kids are eager to improve themselves, but it is still expensive to ship them.

The revenues of the sales of our shop are sent to Niger and aim at promoting awareness of this country, its people, its landscapes and its culture.

Lougou and Saraouniya

Published jointly by Tarbiyya Tatali and L'Harmattan, the revised and completed second issue of the book “Lougou and Sarayouniya' is now on sale for 19 euros. It can be ordered and sent by post. The proceeds of the sale are entirely devoted to development actions in the Lougou Community.

Chronicle of the Kwanana

Published jointly by Tarbiyya Tatali and l'Harmattan, this work by Dangadalima Issa-Danni Soumana, based on oral tradition, presents the history of a community, the kwanana in the Dogondouchi area in Niger.
The book costs 19 euros.
It can be ordered and sent by post.

First pupils of the Mission School in Dogondoutchi

Based on the research made in 2008 by Antoine de Leocour during his solidarity internship with Tarbbiya Tatali in Niamey in 2008, this brochure deals with the testimonies of first pupils of the White Fathers' Mission School in Dogondoutchi.
Its cost is 5 euros, it can be sent by post.

Book of folk tales “Once Upon a Time in Niger”

The book of tales ‘Once Upon a Time in Niger' is available, costing 5 euros. It can be sent by post. The profits from the sales are entirely devoted to operations in favour of Niger.

Our first book of tales, ‘At School with Nigerien Tales ‘ is now out of print.

Folk-tale cards

Fifteen different Season's Greetings cards have been published to mark the publication of the book 'Once Upon a Time in Niger'. Each card shows a photo of Abdoul Aziz Soumaïla, taken at the homes of Kande or Issa, the storytellers. They are on sale for 1E each. . The whole collection can be sent by post for 15 euros.

Nine other Season's Greetings cards, related to the book 'At School with Nigerien Tales', are also available. They show photos taken by Alain Roux and are priced 1 E each.

Postcards and posters

A set of black and white pictures taken by Alain Roux and called «children of Niger» is available for sale. A set of nine pictures is sold for eight euros and two sizes are available (postcard or poster)
A set of color pictures taken by Alain Roux and called « daily life in Niger » is available for sale. A set of ten pictures is sold for eight euros and two sizes are available (postcard or poster)

Membership and Donations

You can also join, or send donations to AECIN or to AESCD, mentioning the action you wish to support.

Donations and membership fees entail an income tax deduction the following year.
